Woman seriously hurt in Johnsburg car crash

Warren County Sheriff’s Office reported serious injuries from a two-car accident on Jan. 9 in the town of Johnsburg.

At around 4:47 p.m., police responded to the accident at the intersection of State Route 8 and River Road.

Angelo C. Willette, 18, of Brant Lake, had serious injuries from the crash and had to be extricated from the vehicle by Chestertown Fire Department.

Willette was driving east on State Route 8 when he lost control due to slippery roads and entered the westbound lane. The 18-year-old struck another vehicle being operated by William R. Ford of Stillwater, Oklahoma, police said.

Ford was not injured, but a passenger in his vehicle suffered minor injuries.

Willette was transported to Albany Medical Center by Johnsburg EMS.

State Route 8 was closed for a period of time after the crash. The accident remains under investigation by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
